Walter P. Zenner, Professor of Anthropology (SUNY at Albany) has for many years been engaged in research on the dispersion of Syrian Jews. As part of this work, he is interested in learning more about the settlement of Jews from Aleppo and Damascus in Egypt from 1860 to 1960. He is particularly interested in family firms, synagogues, and philanthropic institutions founded by Syrian Jews, as well as about Egyptian rabbis and Jewish political leaders of Syrian Origin.
